Great Suwannee River Cleanup!
576 volunteers removed
29,153 pounds of trash

Thanks to all of you who participated in the 1st Great Suwannee River Cleanup! We are so pleased with the enthusiasm shown for this project and most grateful for the many and varied efforts of all involved. We were lucky in that only 2 groups ran into water so low it forced them to postpone their cleanup. These were up at the Shoals area. The Suwannee River is one of America’s most pristine. And yet, our 576 volunteers removed 29,153 pounds of trash from this great river. Nearly 15 tons! The participating groups that conducted the 30 separate cleanups are listed below. See the Flickr page for some photographs. The sponsors of the event are also listed. We are so appreciative of their generosity that allowed us the pull off this project.
