Great Invader Raider Rally

  • Current Problems 798-728 NW 23 St Gainesville, FL 32607 United States (map)

Current Problems will be a site leader again this year at the Great Invader Raider Rally on January 19th! Our location is Loblolly Woods on NW 23rd street off of NW 8th avenue in Gainesville. Please come help us remove invasive plants from our natural areas! We will begin at 9 am and work until 10:30 or 11. The celebration afterward begins at 11.

No prior plant knowledge or experience needed! We will teach volunteers how to properly identify and remove the targeted species.

  • Please come prepared with gloves, long pants, closed-toe shoes, sunscreen, and bug spray.

  • Restrooms may not be available at the site, so plan accordingly.

  • As we attempt to minimize waste generated by this event, please bring a reusable water bottle.

  • After the cleanup, a celebration will be held at Morningside Nature Center (3540 E. University Ave.)  from 11am to 1pm with food  from Cilantro Taco and Humble Wood Fire Pizza, raffle prizes donated by local businesses, live music, and free t-shirts for volunteers!
