Executive Director

Current Problems, Inc. is a Gainesville-based grassroots nonprofit that has been working to clean the waterways of Florida for over 25 years. During this time, we have removed over 830,000 pounds of trash from our area waterways with the help of nearly 20,000 volunteers.

We are currently seeking an Executive Director for up to 20-25 hours per week. Flexible work schedule. Essential job duties include:
• Effectively managing and leading program operations and day-to-day operations (fulfilling contractual obligations, completing quarterly reports, writing newsletters, etc.)
• Development of new, innovative programs to encourage and facilitate learning about our local waterways and litter issues
• Managing fund development activities, including grant and proposal writing and the solicitation of donations from businesses and individuals
• Connecting with stakeholders and collaborating with supporting organizations
• Planning and establishing cleanup events
• Attending tabling and fundraising events
• Organizing and managing board meetings
• Overall fiscal responsibility for the program
• Maintain and promote social media presence
• Maintain and update website
• Communicating with local traditional media outlets to increase media coverage (e.g. TV, radio, newspaper, etc.)
• Giving presentations to existing funders and potential funders, as well as other organizations working with these issues

• A passion for and knowledge of local water-related issues is a must
• Excellent communication skills, time management/project management skills
• Must have reliable vehicle
• Nonprofit work experienced preferred

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: $15.00 /hour
