MISSION & HISTORY
Restoring Florida's waterways and natural lands since 1993
WHO WE ARE
Current Problems is a non-profit organization based out of Gainesville, Florida. We work to clean the waterways of North Central Florida not only by holding frequent cleanups but by also providing outreach and educating the public on water quality issues. At any given time, you can find us working to clean rivers, lakes, springs, ponds, creeks, and wetlands in our area.
HOW WE STARTED
Current Problems was established in 1993 when a small group of friends began working together to clean up the trash and contaminants in and along the banks of north Florida’s Santa Fe River. Twenty seven years later, this grassroots organization has expanded its focus to include urban creeks, rivers, ponds and lakes throughout north central Florida. Not only do we hold cleanups, but we provide educational materials and outreach to the public in an effort to improve water quality in our area.
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to preserve and protect the water resources of North Central Florida for the wellbeing of wildlife and community through action, awareness, and education.
