SUPPORT A CAUSE
We are always looking for volunteers and partners. Whether you want to get your feet wet at one of our cleanups or are able to dedicate time to behind-the-scenes work, your help is always appreciated!
We are aware of these increasingly difficult times which is why we've decided to take a few necessary precautions in coordinating volunteer efforts and cleanups. Below is a list of COVID-safe volunteer activities currently available through Current Problems. We ask that you respect the following guidelines. Thank you!
SCHEDULED CREEK/RIVER CLEANUPS
Due to limited resources and staffing hours, we're currently only allowing group creek cleanups once- twice/month.
There is a limited group size of 20 people per cleanup, masks are required, group leaders must sanitize equipment before and after use, and provide a touch- free hand washing station for participants.
STORM DRAIN MARKING
Storm drain marking can be done safely in groups of 2-3 people. Weekday & Weekend scheduling is available.
SANTA FE RIVER CLEANUPS (GROUP OR INDIVIDUAL)
We are still offering free kayak rentals out of High Springs, FL, for cleanups on the Santa Fe River (between Highway 27 and State Road 47 bridges). Reservations need to be made at least a week in advance. If you're planning a group cleanup please read our "group" section to the left.
CLEANUP KIT DROP-OFF
For cleanup kit drop-off, volunteers can either pick up their own cleanup kit for a personal cleanup or they can help us deliver cleanup kits to other volunteers!
Cleanup kits include: a bucket, gloves, mesh bag, grabbers (optional), a roll of trashbags, a sticker, and a time/ trash log. Volunteers have the option to dispose of trash on their own or we can pick up, sort, and recycle for you.
Send us updates on trash collected and we will happily sign off on volunteer hours!
